Please join the American Entomological Society on Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9, 2026, as we celebrate the Academy of Natural Sciences’ 19th Annual Bug Fest. The Society will be working a table in Dinosaur Hall where we will have on display our 1862 Incorporation document and our original nineteenth century hand seal embosser. Specimens of the Society’s iconic scarab beetle emblem, the Eastern Hercules Beetle, Dynastes tityus, will be on view. Signups are at our table for the Bug Walks to the Logan Circle garden, and, new this year, the Botany of Nation’s Native Plants Garden on the Parkway in front of the Academy. A Bug Walk Field Guide handout will help in identifying your observations. As in past years, an insect-themed fun packed weekend is in store for all!
